"Smecton" is a synthetic inorganic polymer with a saponite structure developed by Kunimine Industries Co., Ltd. using proprietary technology. Traditionally, minerals referred to as smectites are known as "clays with a thousand uses" and are utilized in a wide range of industries and in our everyday lives. However, since smectites are derived from natural clay, it is difficult to completely remove impurities from the soil, which limits their applications. Therefore, to enable a broader range of uses, research was conducted on the synthesis of smecton based on pure chemical raw materials.
